Does Running Help Cellulite?

Everyone knows that exercise is an important part of eradicating cellulite. People talk about good exercises to get rid of cellulite, or the best exercises, but any exercise is better than none.

Cellulite is like a stagnant pool of fat and toxins and the way to get rid of it is to get moving and shake it up. Once the fatty, toxic deposits start to shift and break up, your body can move them into the blood stream and slush them out naturally.

So does running help?

Different people get cellulite in different places. Men mostly get it in their abdomen and women mostly get cellulite in their thighs. So the best exercise to get rid of cellulite depends on where it is.

People with cellulite in their arms will need to exercise their arms more and people with cellulite in their buttocks need to exercise their buttocks more.

So if you have cellulite in your thighs, any leg exercises, and particularly upper leg exercises, will help to break up cellulite on your thighs.

But any exercise that makes you sweat is beneficial.

Gentle exercise is essential for getting rid of cellulite and it also has plenty of other benefits too. It breaks up the water-logged cellulite, stimulates blood circulation which helps remove the fatty deposits, makes you breathe more deeply so you take in more oxygen, activates perspiration which evacuates toxins, encourages bowel movement, tones up muscles, stops joints seizing up, improves posture and burns up extra calories.

Is running effective?

Running is a very effective form of exercise because your legs act as a pump to pump your blood up through your heart and all around your whole body.

But running is also a very strenuous exercise so unless you are used to working out hard, or you enjoy going for a run, you shouldn’t do it.

You can achieve almost identical results from walking. Your legs will pump your blood around just the same but without the strain on your muscles.

If you don’t want to walk (or run) out in public, you can buy a treadmill and exercise in the privacy of your own home.

Just get those legs moving, the heart and blood pumping and your brow sweating.

You can start by exercising just a little bit every day and gradually increase it until you are fit, toned and cellulite free.
